Jose Alfaro is a Ph.D. candidate in Resource Policy and Behavior in the School of Natural Resources and Environment and coordinator of Sustainability Without Borders.

His current research focuses on bottom-up efforts to create sustainable systems in Liberia, West Africa.  Applying the science and tools of Complex Systems Theory, he explores the possible emergence of a renewable electricity network in Liberia.
